The Toluca Femenil announced the arrival of Alberto Toril as their new coach for the 2026 Apertura. The 52-year-old Spanish coach has experience with Real Madrid and Guangzhou Evergrande. Toril has developed his career as a player and coach in Spain, starting with Real Madrid Juvenil A in 2008. He has also coached Castilla, Elche, Guangzhou Evergrande, and Real Madrid Femenil. Under his management, the team has achieved a balance of 112 wins, 11 draws, and 35 losses in 158 games. They have also qualified for the UEFA Women's Champions League four times, reaching the quarterfinals twice. However, Toril has not won any titles, including the Liga F, Copa de la Reina, or Supercopa de España. He replaces the French coach Patrice Lair, who left the team after two short tournaments with a record of 21 wins, 9 draws, and 9 losses, qualifying for the Liguilla twice and reaching the quarterfinals and semifinals.
